We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you towards one another abounds; so that we ourselves boast about you in the assemblies of God for your perseverance and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which you endure.
2 Thessalonians 1:3-4 World English Bible
Reflection
Believers enduring intense pressure often exhibit remarkable spiritual fortitude, anchoring their hope in Christ despite external hostility. When new converts face opposition, international fellowship and spiritual solidarity provide essential strength. Canadian diplomatic leaders and foreign policy advisors require discernment when advocating for international religious freedom and human rights abroad. Interceding for persecuted Christians around the globe reinforces our commitment to justice and protection for vulnerable religious communities everywhere.
Prayer
Pray for the Christian church in Iran. Despite severe persecution, especially against new believers, it has become one of the fastest-growing Christian communities in the world.
