Reflection
Long travel schedules and weekly separation place substantial pressure on elected officials and their loved ones. Spouses often handle household burdens alone, while children navigate long periods without a parent at home. Ask God to sustain these marriages with deep devotion and open communication during periods of distance. May children feel secure and cherished despite the physical absence. Pray for wisdom in balancing parliamentary duties with family commitments, so that homes remain places of peace, strength, and mutual support.
Prayer
Pray for all MP’s especially those who live far from Ottawa as time spent on Parliament Hill separates them from their families. The stresses of the job can be difficult on their relationships but even more so for those who have to endure regular physical separation. Those with children may feel the absence of one parent to a greater extent.
