… to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified.

Reflection

Grief and hardship touch communities deeply, leaving wounds that human effort alone cannot mend. When promises of divine renewal are spoken over a suffering people, hope begins to take root again. Intercession asks for heavenly comfort to reach those enduring loss and sorrow, trusting that true restoration replaces brokenness with strength. Leaders and citizens alike need steadfast hope during seasons of trial, recognizing that healing flows from God's enduring faithful commitment to redeem every broken circumstance.

Prayer

Pray God's promises over Zion—that He will comfort all who mourn and restore what has been lost.
